Casino Choice reads the small print of casino bonuses, compares operators and explains how real-money play works. Below is what our pages can do for you, and where their usefulness ends.

Publisher

casinochoice.org is published by Spinyreef Networks N.V., Julianaplein 36, Willemstad, Curaçao (email [email protected]). It complements the terms of use.

Reviewer, not operator

No bets, spins or rand deposits happen on casinochoice.org. Pressing "Visit casino" takes you to an independent company that keeps its own licence, rulebook and help desk. When a review cites a Curaçao, Malta, Anjouan or other licence, it is describing the operator's permit, never one held by Casino Choice.

Online casinos and South African law

Online casino games have no legal footing in South Africa: the National Gambling Act, 2004 leaves them out. Provincial gambling boards issue licences to bookmakers and betting operators, and only those may accept wagers over the internet. Every casino in our lists is based offshore. That has practical consequences: local consumer bodies and gambling boards are unlikely to step in if a dispute arises, and South African banks may refuse or claw back card payments made to offshore gaming sites. We cover these operators so that readers who meet them anyway can judge them on facts; this is not a call to play.

Bonuses priced in rand

Welcome deals, free spins and no-deposit offers change week by week. The match percentage, cap, playthrough multiple, game contributions and deadline we print were right when we checked them. Picture a R1,000 bonus with a 40x playthrough: R40,000 has to be staked before anything can be withdrawn, and plenty of players run out of balance first. Only the full bonus rules published by the operator are binding.

Currencies and exchange rates

Plenty of offshore cashiers work in US dollars or euros and quote rand only as a courtesy. Rand amounts on our pages may therefore be conversions, and the figure your bank finally shows can differ once exchange rates and card charges are added.

What a rating means

Our scores combine bonus fairness, banking choice, withdrawal times, the game library, customer support and safer-gambling tools. The weighting is our editorial call. A strong score says a casino held up well against the others when we tested it. It cannot guarantee quick payouts, nor that the casino suits the way you play. Which casinos appear in the first place also depends on commercial agreements, as the affiliate disclosure explains.

Slots, RTP and demo play

RTP and volatility figures are supplied by the studios that make the games. Operators can often choose among several RTP versions of a slot, so the one at your casino may pay back less than our figure. RTP is a long-run average and predicts nothing about tonight. Free demos run on play credits and need not mirror the real-money version. Betting systems do not beat the house edge.

Live dealer and table games

What we write about live tables reflects one visit: stakes, studios and table hours move around. If a stream cuts out mid-round, the casino's own rules decide what happens to your bet.

Banking options

Operators and payment companies decide whether EFT, Ozow, cards, vouchers or crypto are available, and set the limits and charges, sometimes overnight. How long a withdrawal takes mostly comes down to the casino's identity checks.

Crypto

Where a casino takes Bitcoin or other coins, remember that their rand value swings hard: a deposit can lose a large part of its worth before you cash out, and coins sent to a mistyped wallet address are usually gone for good.

Archive material

Some reviews and promotions written in 2020–2021 for UK and European readers remain available, flagged as archive. Their licences, bonuses and terms were never aimed at South Africa and may be obsolete everywhere.

Our articles are general information. Ask a registered tax practitioner how gambling winnings affect your own tax position. Keep gambling money separate from rent, school fees and groceries, and do not take loans to fund play.

Logos and screenshots

Operator and studio logos and game screenshots help you recognise what we are talking about. Their owners keep all rights, and their presence here is not an endorsement of Casino Choice by those firms.

Sports betting is a different matter

Some readers come to us looking for a bookmaker. Licensed South African betting sites fall under provincial boards and are a separate world from the offshore casinos reviewed here. Casino Choice does not rate bookmakers, and our pages say nothing about whether a particular betting operator holds a provincial licence.

Limits of our liability

So far as South African law allows, Spinyreef Networks N.V. is not answerable for gambling losses, for any act or omission of a casino or payment firm, for inaccurate or late information on this site, or for what linked websites publish. Liability that may not lawfully be excluded remains.

Something out of date?

Found a bonus that is gone, a licence that expired or a payout time that no longer holds? Email the link and the new details and we will fix the page promptly.

Staying in control

Choose your budget before you log in, switch on the deposit limits casinos provide and stop once the money for the session is gone. Offshore operators are not part of any South African self-exclusion register, so if you need a break, ask each casino's support to close your account. Our responsible gambling page points to free help.
