Here is how casinochoice.org pays its way.
In brief
Casino Choice is free to read because casinos reward us when readers join them through our links. Below: how the arrangement works, what it affects, and what it can never purchase.
The contracting party
Affiliate contracts are signed by Spinyreef Networks N.V., Julianaplein 36, Willemstad, Curaçao, which operates casinochoice.org. Operators interested in working with us can write to [email protected].
How a referral is paid
Our casino buttons and logos lead to an address under /go/ on casinochoice.org, which sends you on to the operator together with a referral code. Once a referred reader opens an account and funds it, we can receive a one-off amount per first-time depositor (CPA), an ongoing cut of what the casino keeps from referred players after winnings and bonuses (revenue share), or a hybrid of the two. Your welcome offer is identical to the one you would see by visiting the casino on your own.
Where the money has a say
Agreements determine which casinos make our lists and play a part in their order; as our about page states, we only list casinos we have an agreement with. An operator without a contract can therefore be missing entirely.
Where it has none
Payment cannot raise a review score, tone down criticism of playthrough rules or hide sluggish withdrawals. Operators get no preview of reviews and have no right to edit them.
Rates
We keep individual commission terms confidential. A CPA deal and a revenue-share deal are rated by exactly the same yardstick.
Partner does not mean licensed here
Having a contract with us tells you nothing about whether an operator may lawfully accept South African players. South African law offers no online casino licence, and our partners are licensed in other jurisdictions, named in each review.
Editorial independence in practice
Paying and non-paying casinos go through one identical checklist: we look at the full bonus terms, the cashier, withdrawal limits, the licence and the tools for limiting play. Weak points found in that check go into the review, partner or not. Requests from operators to soften a verdict are turned down.
Labelling
Partner links are marked rel="sponsored" so search engines can recognise them as paid placements, and pages carrying partner lists link back to this disclosure.
Exclusive bonuses
Occasionally we negotiate a bonus that only our readers can claim. It remains bound by the operator's terms, which we scrutinise as hard as any others, and it never earns a mediocre casino extra points.
When a contract ends
Should an agreement lapse, the link goes or changes, while the review may stay up for reference. Leaving does not cost a casino points, and arriving does not earn it any.
Why we chose this model
Charging readers would keep most of them away, and banner networks would fill our pages with promotions we had never vetted. Being paid by the businesses we assess is a genuine conflict of interest, which is exactly why we spell it out. Before a review goes live we ask whether it would say the same thing if the operator paid us nothing; if the answer is no, it goes back for rewriting.
What it means for you
Our links are free for you, yet we profit when you play – keep that in mind when reading any ranking, including ours. Never let a top-ten list persuade you to gamble. Set your limit first, and if gambling starts to crowd out other things, turn to the services gathered on our responsible gambling page.
